This is a private class for professionals who work with individuals and couples who are seeking help for a pornography related issue.

Below you will find information about the times and topics that will be covered in this six hour training.

Training Outline:
1. Friday the 11th of March from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (MST)– Topic: Motivating the Addicted Brain

During this 1 ½ hour presentation we will be discussing how to motivate individuals who are dealing with addiction. The research indicates that the addicted brain is easily hijacked and becomes sensitized to the chemicals in the brain. We will talk about how to use this information to motivate an individual who is feeling stuck.

You will learn:

• Why you have to assess motivation before you try to implement change strategies
• How brain plasticity can be used to motivate
• How to help individuals engage in motivating themselves

2. Friday the 18th of March from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (MST)—Topic: Rewiring the Addicted Brain

The process of rewiring the addicted brain is not easy, but when properly understood it can be exciting to individuals who are trapped in the clutches of pornography. In this presentation, you will learn valuable steps on how to rewire that addicted brain.

You will learn:

• How the right information can help rewire the addicted brain
• A three step process on how to rewire the brain
• A proven approach to rewiring thought patterns

3. Friday the 25th of March from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (MST)—Topic: Addiction and Intimacy (Part 1)

Addiction prevents intimacy. This statement is especially true in couples who are dealing with pornography addiction. However, the extent of the influence on the marital relationship has come through anecdotal evidence. In this discussion, we will analyze the results from one of the largest studies that assessment pornography from both partner’s perspective. The focus on this part of “Addiction and Intimacy” is to highlight the pain that pornography creates for both men and women.

• How pornography influences the thinking and emotions of those trapped in it
• How pornography influences the partner’s of those trapped in pornography
• How to assess a couple’s needs early in the therapy process

4. Friday the 1st of April from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (MST)—Topic: Addiction and Intimacy (Part 2)

Working with couples who are attempting to put their lives back together after the discovery of a pornography problem is very challenging. Not necessarily because the couple doesn’t want to work out their marriage. The problem most couples face is the constant reminders and triggers that both partners face in the recovery process. This discussion will focus on helping the couple understand the challenges that they will face and aid them in the healing process. The end goal is to help them discover true intimacy.

• How to help couples discuss pornography without it becoming a knock out fight
• How to help couples develop a healthy approach to their sexual relationship
• How couples can heal by creating a deep and meaningful connection
